Chelsea eye Gonzalo Higuain as Diego Costa’s replacement Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is now planning to sign Napoli striker Gonzalo Higuain, according to Spanish outlet Fichajes.

Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is now planning to sign Napoli striker Gonzalo Higuain, according to Spanish outlet Fichajes.
Manchester United set to beat Arsenal for Gonzalo Higuain

The reports have claimed that the Russian owner has lost his patient with the last summer signing Diego Costa who has failed to perform so far this season. Abramovich is planning to sell him and is eyeing Higuain as his new striker.

The Italian side have demanded £68million for the former Real Madrid striker and the reports are suggesting that Chelsea could be offering around £50million for the Argentine striker.

Another possible offer from Chelsea could be cash along with Costa as Napoli could be happy to accept him in the deal.

The 27-year-old has netted 65 goals in 117 appearances in all competitions for the Serie A side since his move from Real Madrid in 2013.

Meanwhile, Arsenal have been reportedly targeting Higuain since the last summer window and could reignite their interest once the transfer window reopens in January.

The Gunners are also suffering from striking issues for the past few seasons but have never tried to bring a striker to Emirates Stadium.

Higuain is currently the top scorer in Serie A with nine goals.
