Manchester United have been in strong link with the former Arsenal player as he has told the Catalan that he want to leave the club this summer for a Premier League club.
Alex Song wants to play regular football which he failed to find at the Camp Nou. Barca signed the Cameroon international for a fee around £15 million in 2012. He has made 65 appearances since his move to Barca.
Liverpool are planning to offer for Song as they are eyeing him as a replacement of Lucas Leiva who might be heading towards the exit doors of Anfield this month.
Despite of too much variety at the central role, Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers is still eyeing Song who might also see a bench most of the time at Anfield.
While, United boss Louis van Gaal is keeping tabs on him since the start of the transfer market as he looks set to strength his side to bring the old glory days back to United.
