Thibaut Courtois who won Golden Glove last season for Atletico Madrid is hoping to get a new deal at Stamford Bridge and is ready to put a pen to paper to commit a long term future for Chelsea.
The Belgian stopper has started all the games so far for Jose Mourinho’s side keeping Petr Cech on the bench who is still one of the best goalkeeper present in the World.
The 22-year-old was the man who helped Atletico Madrid last season to lift La Liga title after 18 years. He kept 20 clean sheets in 37 games.
Courtois said regarding the new contract: “It’s not yet signed. I am here with the national team so it is difficult, but when I am back at Chelsea I will probably sign the new contract.”
He also added regarding Cech situation that he is playing for more than 10 years and it’s a difficult time for him but that’s the decision made by the coach and the board.
Cech is working hard in the training sessions and he might take Courtois place in the future.
“He is working hard in training to be ready when I cannot play or I am maybe not playing well. We work well together”, said the Belgian.
May be after signing a contract he might be benched?
