The biggest match in world football lived up to its expectations. More than 400 Million viewers around the globe were sitting in front of their TV screens when Real Madrid faced Barcelona at the Bernabeau. And with an early Neymar goal being cancelled by Cristiano Ronaldo by virtue of a penalty gifted to him by Gerard Pique, first 45 minutes of the game were properly poised for a nervous finale. But as it turned out to be, Real gone riot and could have added more than the 3 they scored, if they have taken their chances at the end.

Here are the 4 things we learnt from El-Clasico:
Goal Machine Ronaldo
Cristiano Ronaldo was in an imperious form coming into this match. And last night did no harm to it either. After scoring a penalty against the Catalan side, he not only became the first player to go past Bravo in La Liga this season, but also managed to score in his 10th consecutive game. In 8 League matches, the World’s best player has scored 16 goals with a ridiculous shot conversion rate of 74.4%. Looking at his form, there seems to be no one stopping Cristiano Ronaldo at the moment.
Impressive Debutant
After serving a ban for biting, Luis Suarez made his first start in La Liga last night. And he wasted no time to make his mark. The Uruguayan played a key part in Barcelona’s only goal in the match. His impressive pass found Neymar who made no mistake sliding it pass Casillas. And he didn’t stopp there.

A few Minutes later, Suarez’ brilliant cross set up Messi just a few yards away from goal, but thanks to Casillas’ heroics that Messi couldn’t convert it somehow. Even though Suarez played just 68 minutes on his debut, but he certainly proved that he was worth for such a high transfer fee. So Suarez did give some hope for otherwise disappointed Barca fans last night.
Suarez vs Barca: 1 assist 3 chances created 5 take ons 90% pass accuracy.
Big Match failure continues for Barcelona
It was Barcelona’s 2nd real test this season. And worryingly for Luis Enrique, his team failed in both of them. After seeing his side lost to PSG in UEFA Champions League, it was vital for Barcelona to win against Real Madrid. But a team who hasn’t conceded a single goal in previous 7 while playing against average sides, was turned into threads by Ronaldo and Co. Their defence had no answer to Real Madrid’s attack who could have scored many more than three if had they taken their chances. So if Barcelona want to win some piece of silverware this season, they have to start performing against the very best sides.

Under-Rated Benzema
It’s not easy for any player playing alongside Ronaldo and Bale to make his individual mark. Karim Benzema has been working very hard for last couple of years at the Bernabeau. Even though he is not getting as much media fame as he deserves, Benzema always gives his 100%. In most other teams he'd be the out and out star. After scoring against arch rivals Barcelona, Karim Benzema has now 4 goals from just 6 shots on target in La Liga this season.
