Chelsea are sitting at the top of Premier League table, 5 points away from the 2nd placed team. And the Spanish Striker, no, not the blonde one, but Diego Costa is key to this superb start of Premier League campaign for the London side. Due to his strong physique, he looks like a traditional striker and that’s what makes him different from other strikers in Premier League.
Coming from a prolific season with Atletico Madrid, concerns were there that whether Costa can settle at Chelsea. Hamstring injury that kept on hunting him throughout last season was another question mark on Diego’s arrival. However, Costa brushed all these apprehensions aside as soon as he entered Stamford Bridge for his first time.
Costa has been in superb form since the start of Premier League 2014-15 season. In just 7 matches, Costa has already scored 9 goals. His goal tally is 7 more than any of his Chelsea’s team mate. With a shooting accuracy of 84%, Costa tops the Premier League goals scoring charts as well, with Ulloa coming as distant second after 5 goals.
Diego Costa has scored 9 goals from 19 shots in the Premier League this season, with a ridiculous chance conversion rate of 47.4%.
Chelsea’s major concerns last season were lack of goal scoring strikers. Their top scorer in 2013-14 season was Eden Hazard with 14 goals. Diego Costa, with his current form can go much beyond than that tally for sure. Jose Mourinho will surely be pleased by his new signing and will wish that Costa can keep on running riot on opposing defenders till his next birthday.
