Barcelona are planning to offer their star attacker Neymar a contract extension which would keep him until the 2022, according to reports.
Neymar joined the Catalans last year on a five-year contract. However, more than three years are still left on his Barca contract but Barcelona are planning to offer him a new improved long-term deal.
Neymar and his father are already expecting a better new contract and reports have claimed that talks have been started between his father and Barcelona.
But reports have also claimed that he will not be getting a new deal until the presidential elections in 2016.
Barcelona who have spent €150million on South Americans Neymar and Luis Suarez over the past two years have a plan to keep the duo along with Lionel Messi for a long time. Suarez signed a long term deal in the summer.
Neymar told the media when asked where he will spend his Christmas that he will remain at Barcelona along with his father because it will build a sustainable association.
The Brazilian has scored 29 goals in 59 appearances for Barcelona since his move in 2013 summer. This season, he has netted 11 in 13 games for the Catalans in La Liga.
