Arsenal midfielder Francis Coquelin has signed a new long term deal with the Gunners, according to the Sun.
The French midfielder has been a vital player for the Gunners in the absence of regular first team players Mathieu Flamini and Mikel Arteta who both have been out for most of the season.
Flamini has returned, however Arteta still struggle and will be back in April. Jack Wilshere is the other midfielder who could have not given a chance to Coquelin if he had not suffered an ankle injury back in November.
Coquelin has been exceptional for the London side. His performances from a teenager to a 23-year-old man can be seen clearly. However, he failed to get a spot last season but injury problems for several midfielders opened his door to get and prove himself.
His performances has finally given a good news as Arsenal decided to offer him a new improved deal to keep him for long at the Emirates Stadium.
He has made 10 appearances so far this season and is likely to keep his place till the end.
Sun reported that a four year deal has been agreed between the club and the player, salary is likely to be £40,000 per week.
SkySport journalist Pete O’Rourke believe that the deal is not yet finalized but is likely to happen in the next few days.
