Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger spoke to media today at his pre-match press conference and revealed the following injury updates.
For this weekend match day, Alex Oxalade-Chamberlain is a major doubt due to his groin problem. Arsene Wenger said that his chances of clearing late fitness test is quite low and this might be a blow for the Gunners.
Hector Bellerin is also among those players who might miss the weekend match due to injury. The right-back is also facing a minor ankle injury. Wenger in his case is confident that he will clear the late fitness test.
The French boss is also looking to rest some of his players. Laurent Koscielny or Per Mertesacker may sit in the weekend match to give chance to the young Englishman Calum Chambers.
Danny Welbeck’s fitness is also a concern for the Gunners. Wenger also told about his fitness in the pre-match press conference. Again it’s a bad news for Arsenal as Welbeck didn’t recover from his thigh injury yet and he will again miss the Premier League match. Welbeck last played in a victory against West Ham on the Boxing Day.
Mesut Ozil is ready to start his first game after three months and Theo Walcott is also looking to start this weekend.
