He said that "he is ready for a new challenge". The deal will be announced officially soon in the Serie A outfit.
Eto'o spent only five months at Everton before agreeing an 18-month deal with Sampdoria last week. The former Inter Milan striker has also reportedly accepted a big wage cut around 40% for regular football which he was struggling in the Premier League. Eto’o has already played 67 Serie A games when he was at Inter Milan.
The move, however was delayed due to the communication problem in both the sides.
Major Soccer League side New York Cosmos were also interested in his move, however Sampdoria is now his next destination.
Yesterday, the club revealed his photo in the Sampdoria branded t-shirt on their social media accounts.
