Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has expressed his happiness after Luis Suarez revealed that he will return to Liverpool. .
The former Liverpool star Suarez will return to play Steven Gerrard’s testimonial match. He will play in either of the two All-Star sides to raise the money for local community. Both the sides will be captained by Reds legends Steven Gerrard and Jamie Carragher.
Liverpool boss Rodgers expressed his happiness that it will be great to see Suarez back at Anfiled.
Sky Sports quoted: “It will be great. We have kept in contact since he has been away.”
Suarez scored 82 goals in 133 games for Liverpool during his three and a half year stay. He also won Capital One Cup.
Liverpool boss further added that he is a top class player and he loved his Liverpool time.
The Reds fans will be very happy to see him play again at the Anfield, he himself would be very pleased to play in front of his family.
“The supporters loved having him here. Every time he stepped onto the training pitch and a football field for the team, he gave everything.”
He left Liverpool to play for a better club but he is still loved by the fans, said the boss.
Barcelona signed him last year for a fee around 75 million pounds, he has scored 11 goals in 25 appearances for them in all competitions.
Meanwhile, the other names who will take part in this game are former Reds stars Fernando Torres, Xabi Alonso, Dirk Kuyt and Pepe Reina.
Furthermore, Chelsea duo John Terry and Didier Drogba will take part along with Arsenal legend Thierry Henry.
