Steven Gerrard a Liverpool legend , undoubtedly he will be cast among the many greats that have played for the Reds. One of the greatest players of the past decade. Many people when they think of Liverpool in the past decade they think of Steven Gerrard. His service and dedication to this great club has been outstanding, not just only to Liverpool but also to the Premier League. Definitely will go down in the list as one of the Premier League greats to have played in this League.
He till now has only played for the club he dreamt off for playing as kid and he realized his dream in 1998 for Liverpool and since 2000 he has been a regular player for the club. With currently over 499 appearances for the Anfield side, I’m sure he would add a few more caps before he leaves to join the MLS outfit LA Galaxy next season.
Steven Gerrard earlier this year announced that he would end his long standing relationship with Liverpool and Join MLS side LA Galaxy. I’m sure it wouldn’t have been an easy decision for the Liverpool skipper. He would have pondered that decision for a long time before coming out with that conclusion. A Lot of Liverpool supporters would have been heart broken by this decision made by the Liverpool captain.
The former England captain has had a long and illustrious career with Liverpool. He is an extension of Liverpool, you know what I mean. He has won many trophies for the English side including the Famous Champions League win in 2005 which was played at Istanbul, Turkey. Arguably one of the greatest matches in Champion’s League history. With Liverpool down by three goals in the first half only for the skipper to inspire his team mates and put a Man of the Match performance to come from behind and win the trophy. I’m sure Gerrard will always cherish that moment in his memory. But he would be disappointed in not winning the most important trophy in his long outstanding career in the English League that is the English Premier League. The only thing remaining in his locker domestically.
Regardless of Steven Gerrard winning the English League, he is one the greatest players to have played for in this league and also this Beautiful sport. He will definitely be missed next season. His powerful right foot blasting the ball into the net from outside the box those wild goals by Stevie G will be missed by the Liverpool supporters. He is a true leader, his presence in the field alone can inspire his team mates and the supporters. The MLS is lucky to have Steven Gerrard and surely he will be well appreciated there. Steven Gerrard name will always be sung by the Liverpool supporters. The KOP will always hold a special place for a true Liverpool icon like Stevie G.
