The Daily Star have revealed that Liverpool are set to win the race for James Milner as they have agreed a deal.

The 29-year-old despite of playing 32 games in the recent Premier League for Manchester City season has no plans to stay at Etihad Stadium as he thinks that he is a utility man.
Manuel Pellegrini played him in different roles when needed and never gave his preferred role. While Liverpool legend Gerrard will be moving to MLS side LA Galaxy this window and Liverpool will be in need of an experienced midfield player.
Milner rejected a £165,000-a-week offer from Man City and would not get more than half of it at Anfield.
It is expected that the former Aston Villa star will become first summer signing for Liverpool.
Milner is keen to end his career on high by playing in his favourite role whether the club is in the Champions League or not.
