The Norway international revealed the names of the clubs which were in the race to sign him. Manchester United, Liverpool and Manchester City all were keen to bring the youngster, however he preferred a move to Spanish giants Real Madrid.

The 16-year-old highly rated forward has made only one first team appearance which he earned last season. However, he has been named in the Champions League squad.

Odegaard revealed that he visited every interested club before completing his move to Real Madrid. He went to Liverpool and Manchester and were good but he had to prefer the Los Blancos.

I visited Liverpool, the two Manchester teams and they were all very nice but my choice was Real Madrid and I am very happy with that.”

He is happy at Real but he also said that he might play for English club one day.

Currently, he is playing for the junior level which is managed by the former Real Madrid star Zinedine Zidane who has been working on his game.

He admired Zidane by saying: “Zidane is a great coach, a great man to learn from. He was one of the best in the world and it is a privilege to work with him.”

The teenager was given the number 10 jersey at Castilla and he believes that its one of the biggest responsibility.
