Liverpool are planning to make a shock move for their former striker Fernando Torres, according to Daily Star.
Fernando Torres is currently in Italy with AC Milan on a two-year loan deal from Chelsea but the reports have claimed that the Serie A outfit are planning to offload him back to his parent club as he has failed in the Italian League.
Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has already made it clear that he will not accept Torres at Stamford Bridge as there is no room for the Spaniard.
Torres has only scored a goal in 10 appearances for AC Milan since his move in the summer. Liverpool are already planning to sign a striker in January and now the reports are linking them with their former star player.
Rodgers can land Torres on loan or for a very cheap price if the Blues are willing to sell. The 30-year-old Spanish striker has not been on top since he left Liverpool for Chelsea in 2011.
With Mario Balotelli and Rickie Lambert failing in front of goals, the Spaniard could be tested with a hope to revive his old days at Anfield.
Torres scored 81 goals in 141 appearances for the Reds before making a record move of 50 million pound to Chelsea.
