Everton have started taking interest in former AC Milan forward Alexandre Pato after the departure of striker Samuel Eto'o to Sampdoria, according to the Guardian.
The reports in Italy claim that Everton are keen to land the Brazilian attacker who can fill the spot left by former Barcelona striker Eto’o.
Eto’o joined Everton from Chelsea on a free transfer five months ago, and left them due to the lack of playing time few days ago .
While QPR boss Harry Redknapp was also in the queue for Pato but his offer was rejected by the Brazilian side.
Everton have already contacted the 25-year-old attacker’s agent for the possible move in the next few days.
The transfer window is also nearing its end and this move would be a great one for the struggling Premier League side.
Pato was tipped to be the next biggest star when he was young, however he failed to succeed. The 25-year old scored 63 goals in 150 games for AC Milan before joining his homeland’s club Corinthians, currently he is on loan at São Paulo.
Premier League side Hull City also offered him in the past but his wage demand are high around £60,000-a-week which could be easy for Everrton.
