Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has defended his summer signing Danny Welbeck at the press conference by saying that he signed him on long term plans.
Arsene Wenger revealed in the press conference earlier this morning that Danny Welbeck was not bought to only for this season.
Welbeck joined Arsenal in the summer from Manchester United for a fee around million pounds but has not been upto the mark.
It has been reported that he could be on his way out in the summer but the French boss made it clear that he will stay long.
Welbeck played very well in the start of the season when Olivier Giroud was out with an injury but since his return he has struggled to get his favourite role in front of goal.
The 24-year-old has scored 7 goals in 22 starts in Premier League and Champions League.
He was an unused substitute in the midweek Premier League clash against Queens Park Rangers.
Wenger added that several of top players had to struggle at several times like Santi Cazorla who struggled in the first half of the season, he further added that Welbeck remains an important player for them.
