Liverpool closing on £12.5million Nathaniel Clyne deal

The reports revealed that Liverpool are set to reach agreement for the English full-back Nathaniel Clyne which will be around £12.5million. The Reds first bid was rejected offer which was around £10million.

The Saints have put a £15million price tag on his defender but it is believe that they would now agree on the second bid.

Manchester United was in heavy link with Clyne in the past few months. But since the Reds entered the race they have not given their front seat to anyone.

The 24-year-old who will be out of contract next summer has no plans to stay at Saints. While Southampton have to sell him this summer else he could be leaving on further cheap price in the next transfer window.

He will be replacing Glen Johnson who will leave the club next summer on a free deal.

Liverpool legend and Sky Sports expert Jamie Carragher told KICCA“I saw Nathaniel Clyne at St Mary's after a game last season and told him to sign for LFC – he took my advice!”

Clyne joined Southampton from Crystal Palace few years ago. He was a regular player for the Saints last term, making 41 appearances in total.

Meanwhile, London side Tottenham Hotspur are also keeping tabs on his situation.
