Liverpool are set to launch an offer around £17million for Newcastle United midfielder Moussa Sissoko, as per Italian media Tutto Mercato Web.
The Frenchman has been linked with a move away from St. James’ Park after a difficult last season. They finished on 15th spot just four points above the relegation zone.
Arsenal and Chelsea are also keeping tabs on him and could be beating Liverpool as they have an advantage of Champions League football.
The 25-year-old Frenchman is keen to join a top European side where he can get top quality football and with Liverpool failing last season for Champions League he might ignore them.
Liverpool current midfielder Lucas Leiva has been linked with a move away from the Reds. and manager Brendan Rodgers who has already sealed few deals is eyeing to seal this one as soon as possible.
Sissoko who joined Newcastle from Toulouse in 2013 has still left four years in his current contract.
Sissoko has been a vital player since his move to Newcastle, he has made more than 90 appearances in all campaigns. Last season, he played 38 games and scored five in them.
Meanwhile, the Reds are also eyeing Southampton’s Morgan Schneiderlin, as per talkSPORT. They are likely to sign any one of them.
