2013 is one of the worst year for all football lovers. Many players and managers announced their retirement this year, including big names like Michael Ballack, David Beckham, Paul Scholes, Michael Owen and Jamie Carragher and lastly the greatest manager Sir Alex Ferguson.
Sir Alex Ferguson
Manchester United legend Sir Alex Ferguson a major blow for United fans when he announced his retirement in May 2013. . He won 13 premier league titles, 2 champion’s league and many other cups with United. He made many great players including Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes, David Beckham and Cristiano Ronaldo etc. His contribution is unforgettable.

David Beckham
The English man who played almost in every league for every big club also decided to retire in May after spending five months in France with at Paris Saints Germain. PSG offered him a new contract but he declined it and said that it’s the right time to announce his retirement.

Michael Owen
Former Liverpool, Real Madrid and Manchester United forward also hung his boot this year. He is the last English man to win the Ballon d’Or award. He scored 222 goals in 282 games in his entire career. He is now a regular pundit on BT sport.

Jamie Carragher
Liverpool legend retired after playing 16 successful years at Anfield. After his retirement he joined Sky Sports as a Pundit along with two former Liverpool players Jamie Redknapp, Graeme Souness and former united player Gary Neville. Carragher recently said when Liverpool were on top of the Premier League that he retired on the wrong time.
