Football is a source of imagination for millions around the world and not for the first time in its history, the beautiful game has provided its fans a wonder reasons to rejuvenate. Talking about sportsman spirit and never say die attitude, Newcastle midfielder Jonas Gutierrez is a prime example of this as the Argentine has fought with the worst disease possibly known to mankind and came out in flying colours.

Gutierrez who claimed that he came to know of this fatal disease after colliding with the Frenchman Bacary Sagna endured a year of pain. He was sent messages of commiseration by his fellow team mates from RCD MALLORCA and also by Joey Barton who helped the Argentine to raise his spirits amid testing times.
During his battle with the worst ever disease in human history, Gutierrez made sure he didn’t lose the plot as he took part in a marathon arranged in his native city of Buenos Aires to help highlight the research in the field of cancer.
Two months from now and he indicated the gravity of the situation claiming that the cancer has spread to other parts of the body. But in quite a remarkable fashion similar to what his fans are used to see him on football pitch, the Argentina based midfielder has come out of this tough situation and told the Newcastle fans that he’ll be back in action very soon.
